Shawn Chernousov is the interim chief human resources officer at Brookings. Chernousov provides senior-level HR guidance to leaders and staff and focuses on ensuring the recruitment, development, recognition, and retention of a diverse, high-performing, and engaged workforce.
Shawn joined Brookings in 2022 as the deputy chief human resources officer. Prior to joining Brookings, Chernousov served as the vice president of human resources at B. F. Saul Company and senior director of people and culture at the United Nations Foundation. In these roles, she provided strategic and tactical leadership to align each organization’s HR efforts with its mission and business objectives.
Chernousov holds a bachelor’s degree in public relations from North Carolina State University and is a certified senior human resources professional through the Society for Human Resource Management.
